What Customswise handles for you.

Customswise.online works in three parts: customs representation, origin and certificates, and consultancy. You choose what you need and know up front what to expect. Open a line for the details.

Customs representation

Portbase registration, import, export and DVA arrivals. Your declaration to Dutch customs, carefully prepared, checked and traceable.

Data exchange in the way that suits your organisation

Not every company works the same way. Some clients prefer a traditional approach in which commercial invoices, packing lists and transport documents are supplied. Others process larger volumes every day and want further automation. That is why Customswise.online offers two ways of working together.

  1. Route 1

    Document-driven processing

A practical solution in which the required documents are supplied per shipment and checked before the customs formalities are carried out.

  2. Route 2

    EDI integration

For organisations with structural goods flows, a project-based link can be set up in which declaration data is made available directly from your internal systems for customs handling.

The result is efficient data exchange without compromising on control, quality or compliance.

One point of contact for your customs handling

Whether it is a one-off import shipment, a recurring export flow or the processing of DVA arrivals: Customswise.online helps you with controlled, professional and future-proof customs handling.

Practical where it can be. Careful where it must be. Always compliant.

Origin, Certificates & Legalisation

Doing business internationally often takes more than a customs declaration alone. Depending on the country of destination, additional documents are needed to import goods, claim preferential tariffs or meet local rules.

Status: Available

A correct origin document

  • prevents problems at clearance
  • prevents additional assessments and delay
  • makes sure your customer pays the right tariff
  • strengthens your reliability as a supplier

A certificate is only as strong as the file it is based on.

The document itself is not the only point of focus. What matters most is the evidence that supports it.

Consultancy

Specialist support for complex customs questions: concise, practical and legally grounded.

Status: Available

Practical where it can be. Specialist where it must be.

Consultancy is not an end in itself for us. Our services grew out of everyday customs practice, so our advice is both legally correct and practical to carry out. When a standard solution is enough, we say so.

Process

Seven steps, from question to file.

Advice, a declaration or a certificate: every assignment follows the same fixed route. The line moves back and forth between your organisation and the customs rules, and ends with a complete file.

  • You · Your organisation
  • Customs · Customs and regulation
  1. You

    Intake and scope

You describe your question, situation or flow of goods. We identify the customs issues involved and the information needed, which gives the assignment a clear scope.

  2. You

    Collecting and assessing information

You send the documents: process descriptions, declarations, proofs of origin, correspondence with customs or financial records. We check them for completeness, accuracy and risk.

  3. Customs

    Analysis against the law

We test your situation against customs legislation, case law, policy rules and operational requirements, and map out the risks, the opportunities and the options.

  4. You

    Findings and advice

You get clear feedback in plain language: which risks exist, what your options are and which steps make the most difference.

  5. Customs

    Drafting or filing

If your case calls for a formal step, such as an objection, a refund request, a certificate application or an audit report, we draft it with care and file it correctly.

  6. Customs

    Communication and follow-up

We keep you posted on progress, on what customs replies and on any follow-up questions, so you always know where things stand.

  7. You

    Completion and record

You receive a complete file with every document, argument and letter. That makes internal and external audits easier and keeps everything traceable.

About Customswise

Why Customswise.

Customs questions take more than a declaration or a piece of advice. They take insight, care and an approach that holds up when customs starts asking questions.

Customswise.online is the firm of Mischa van de Werken, Customs & Compliance Specialist in Ede, the Netherlands. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the customs field, in day-to-day operations and in legislation. Many organisations hire different parties for declarations, advice and compliance. Customswise believes these disciplines are connected.

Vision

We believe good customs support starts with honest advice. Sometimes that means confirming you are already on the right track, and it also means naming risks when they are there. So do not expect standard solutions and empty promises, but carefully substantiated advice and a service you can rely on. After all, a quick solution is only worth having when it is also compliant.

Mission

We combine operational experience, solid customs knowledge and a strong focus on compliance in one method. The result is fewer surprises, better files and well-founded choices that still stand in the longer term.

Approach

Each service is a self-contained block that fits your organisation. You choose what you need, agreements are clear from the start and the work can grow with you. Processes are set up for accuracy, traceability and smooth cooperation with you and with Dutch customs.

Values

Honesty, clarity and craftsmanship. Customswise communicates plainly, thinks along and keeps its agreements: advising where needed, executing where possible, always with your interests in mind.
